Are you struggling in Gamblers, Jackpot, Chances, or FAST? Can't get that discrimination behind the distance line? Does your dog not drive to the top of a Pinwheel? Frustrated trying to push up that 4 jump line or across a "box"? If you are struggling with any of these things or just want to work on getting your dog to work out away from you, this is the class for you!
This class will focus on building confidence for strong distance and directional skills. I will cover how to build a dogs speed and confidence by adding distance to more advanced sequences. Additionally, I will cover how to achieve proper footwork and timing to solidify a solid performance!
Not only are we going to work on improving your distance skills, but I will show you how to blend cues to give your dog a more clear "picture" of what you are asking of them or even teach you some new cues, if needed! Here are a few examples of the different types of sequences we will use to improve verticle and lateral distance, while improving your directionals!
Discriminations of many different variations.
180* turns, Serpentines, and Pinwheels with Handlers in all positions
Straight Send Aways
Turn Aways or "Switches" from multiple angles
This class is great for all ages and skill levels! Young dogs who have just started sequencing to older dogs who need to build their distance skills and directionals!
Registration
There are no scheduled sessions for this class at this time. We update our schedule frequently, so please
subscribe to our mailing list for notifications.
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM Pacific Time.
For answers to commonly asked questions see our FAQ page.
Silver level for this class is offered as "Working Silver". In addition to asking GENERAL clarification questions about the class lecture materials, silver students will now have the opportunity to submit two short videos, one minute each, for critique and review. You may submit two questions. Each question MUST have a one minute video attached so the instructor can actually answer a question that they can see. The question must relate to a topic in the class and the video must be a demo of the question. Please see the discussion forum for a detailed explanation - feel free to sign up at bronze, read the explanation, and then come back here to upgrade to silver if that interests you, and if space is available.
If you are interested in a bronze level subscription, you can sign up at any time during the registration period.

Sample Lecture
Lecture 2 – Part 2
In this lecture we are going to be going over different crosses and how to perform them with my handling system.
Because my handling system focuses on footwork and body language cues, I want my crosses to also focus on my feet/body language. And just like my verbal cues, my crosses are pretty “meat and potatoes” :-D
The video below gives an overview of my crosses and their footwork: ( Front Cross, Rear Cross, Blind Cross, and Post Turn.)
In this lesson I want to focus on your footwork for these crosses, as well as start adding some distance to these crosses as well!
Footwork is VERY important with crosses, where our feet point is the path we put our dogs on. So we want to cue our cross and then as we complete the cross we want our feet to be cueing the next direction we want our dog to go.
So for this lesson I want everyone to practice our crosses and so that our footwork cues the cross and then at the end of the cross, our next lower body cue gives our dog the next direction.
Once we have worked on our footwork close to our dogs, lets start adding some distance!
Use the pinwheel exercise from the above video to practice your crosses. You can add some jumps or hoops “leading” into the pinwheel to build more speed into the crosses as well.
In the next portion of this lecture we will work on some more advanced sequences with our various crosses.
